On September 17, 2026, a cornerstone laying ceremony took place at Karskiego Street 5A in Łódź for the reconstruction and revitalization of the Cotton Warehouse. This marks a symbolic beginning of a new stage in the history of one of Łódź’s most important industrial heritage monuments and the last of the grand structures from Izrael Poznański’s former empire, awaiting a new life.
Historic Building with a New Function
The revitalization of the Cotton Warehouse involves transforming the historic building into a modern, multifunctional space. The facility will house a hotel, office spaces, and coworking areas, complemented by amenities accessible to residents of Łódź and tourists.
The plans also include an educational and tourist path, recreational areas, and open spaces that will allow visitors to better explore the history of the facility and the industrial past of this part of the city.
Revitalization in the Heart of Industrial Łódź
The Cotton Warehouse is located in the immediate vicinity of Manufaktura, in an area strongly connected with the history of industrial Łódź. The investment’s goal is not only to protect the historic architecture but, above all, to give it new functions and reintegrate the building into the city’s daily life.
The project combines history with modernity, preserving the character of the place while creating a space that meets the contemporary needs of residents, businesses, and visitors to Łódź.
The investment is being carried out with co-financing from European Funds, granted by the Łódź Voivodeship Board.
The laying of the cornerstone begins another stage of work on the revitalization of the Cotton Warehouse. A new chapter opens for the historic building at Karskiego Street 5A.
